How Datamotive licensing works — what consumes license capacity, how to obtain and install a license, and managing multiple licenses.

A license is required to perform recovery and migration operations. When you run a recovery or migration, the consumption is reflected in the license's consumption bar under Settings → License.
Obtain a license
Find your node key
Open the About section of the management console and copy the Node Key.
Contact Datamotive
Send the node key, along with the details requested by the support team, to support@datamotive.io. On successful validation, Datamotive provides a license file.
Install the license
Open the license settings
Go to Settings → License and click + New. The license upload wizard appears.
Upload and verify
Click the upload icon and select the license file. After validation, the license details are displayed — verify them.
Install
Click Install. The new license is installed in the system.
Manage multiple licenses
If multiple licenses are present, use the action button on a license to activate or deactivate it. Monitor remaining capacity in the consumption bar before large recovery or migration events.
