Sites are the infrastructure where source or target workloads reside. A site pairs a platform type (VMware, AWS, GCP, Azure) with platform credentials and a Datamotive node. Sites are managed in the console under Configure → Sites.
Create a site
Click + New in the Sites view. The common inputs apply to every platform:
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name | string | required | Desired name to identify the site. |
| Description | string | optional | Short information about the site. |
| Site Type | enum | required | Protect — the site where protected entities reside. Recover — the site where protected entities are recovered. |
| Platform Type | enum | required | VMware, AWS, GCP, or Azure. The remaining form fields change with this selection. |
| Node | reference | required | The registered node for the platform hosting the workloads. |
Platform-specific parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| vCenter Server IP | string | required | vCenter Server IP address hosting the workloads. |
| Port | number | required | Port on which vCenter Server runs. Default: 443 |
| Username | string | required | vCenter Server username with the Datamotive role assigned. |
| Password | string | required | vCenter Server password. |
Click Configure to create the site. On success it appears in the site list, and the dashboard's Site Connections widget shows the replication direction once plans are active.
Edit a site
Select the site and click Edit, modify the necessary fields, and click Configure to save.
Remove a site
Select one or more sites, click Remove, then Confirm.
